I read this novel from start to finish over two busy days. Could not put it down. I was “lost” in it and would look up wondering how I got back here gain.

What amazed me were the memories it brought up. I was a northerner living in the south in 1970 while my husband was in graduate school. As a Yankee the only job I could get was in a poverty program where I was often only one of the white staff.

What I remember was learning what words nd situations created the hush and tension and fear. I had my tires slashed one night. When I read about Aibeleen and Minny’s fear of what would descend upon them if they were found out–my mouth was dry and my heart was pounding.

How come no one has mentioned the legitimate fear; the raw courage of the women who spoke out. What I remember was just the everydayness of the terror of racism, and the subtle changes that people slowly negotiated and that brought some relief and the dance we are all still doing.

Having a Harvard educated, half-white, half foregin born African President of the United States hasn’t quieted some people’s hatred and projections.

What a complicated country we live in. How perfectly Kathryn Stockett has helped me relive some experiences I couldn’t begin to express.

Of course it is written 40+ years later by a young white person, the plot is condensed and it may be imperfect. But it is a great story, a rush to read, and an experience to ponder.

First time I used the machine I decided to clean my sofa. The upholstery attatchment stopped working after 10 minutes. Now I am going to have to take it in and have it repaired. For the price you would expect it to work longer than 10 minutes. I would not purchase this again!!!

Works perfectly for the mobile stuff I carry, a Garmin 765T and a 32 GB IPod Touch. True, it will not hold the mount or power cord but if that’s your desire get a bigger case.

Ok…I’m not much into writing reviews, but I feel compelled to chime in on this product. I have been an on-again, off-again runner for several years and have as my goal to run in 1 or 2 half-marathons each year. Getting under a 2 hour 1/2 marathon is always my goal. Up until the time of getting/using the Garmin 305 I have been using a standard running watch, the Timex Ironman. The Ironman has been a great watch in its own regard, but I really wanted to focus on heart-rate zone training to improve my overall conditioning and stamina in the later parts of my long training runs and in the events themselves. Literally within a couple of weeks of using the Garmin 305, I saw my overall level of conditioning improve approximately 10%, which as you know is pretty huge. With max VO interval work, I can now run a full minute faster per mile (from 10:00/mi down to 9:00/mi) quite comfortably and keep my heart rate high zone 3 and low zone 4 now. It actually feels “comfortable” to me in this range. I did a 14 mile training run yesterday and kept my BPM in this range through the 12 mile mark. The last 2 miles were zone 4 to low zone 5, but were do-able and I always felt “informed” about my heart health.

Other than being able to track real-time metrics during a run, probably the absolute coolest feature of this watch is through its software. It comes with Garmin Training Center (PC and Mac) and it allows you to usb-sync each of your runs (or biking or swimming) and view any of a dozen metrics throughout the run. You may also upload your runs to GarminConnect and view your run on satellite and google maps. Waaaayyyy cool!

Aside from the attendant bells and whistles, this GPS watch has performed rock solid in various weather conditions and has helped me bunches to get to the next level in my running regimen. Played for just 2 days and the Wii Game CD does not want to come out. When i searched teh internet i found so many people had the same issue. Since we liked the Wii, we decided to get a replacement unit. The replacement also had same issues as teh first one. But unlike the first one the second ejected the CDs after couple of tries.

Returning back for refund now.

Other things you might want to consider.

By default you will get only composite output cable (1 Video + 2 Audio). The new LED TV i bought Sharp 46LE810UN just have only one composite input and i have also noticed that the 2010 model TVs are reducing their composite input and increasing the HDMI input. Though you can buy the Wii component cable (3 Video + 2 Audio) from the market, it is very disappointing to see that Wii does not have HDMI out by default.

Would be better if the Wii has a hard power off switch. Not sure whether this is teh cause of the Game CDs get struck when left it in the console for a long time. Also, the weird thing is that if you do not completely shut off the Wii, the Game CD input CD blinks occasionally.

Wish we could have a remote recharge option available from the console or as additional accessory.

best pedometer I have owned (3 prior to this one). I do about 12K to 15K steps daily and this unit is very accurate (about 99%). good price for a quality product.

Without question this was a landmark movie. Some of the greatest acts in rock and roll were able to perform in this movie. The movie going fan was able to see the Who,Joe Cocker,Janis Joplin,Jimi Hendrix,Sly and the Family Stone, Richie Havens, John Sebastian and the Loving Spoonful as well as many other up and coming stars in the world of music. The music in the movie was very good. The on the scene footage was also well shot. You were able to see Woodstock from every perspectivein this movie. That this video is till available 32 years lateris a testament to this event. Buy this and watch it. It is a collector’s item.
